Deja crap

A little over a year ago, Cricket had bilateral knee surgery for luxating patellas.  She’s been doing fine and according to the vet was as good as new by last June, but last night she tore the ligament in her left knee and she needs surgery again.  It’s just one leg, but really, it’s not much more expensive to have them both done :p It’s so very frustrating… we finally thought we had the money to get some routine blood work done on the other pets, like Pepe and Keno, and now they’ve been kicked down to the bottom of the list again.  The surgery will be about two weeks when Dr. Tommy Walker will be in town to do it—our vet wants to hand it over to a specialist.  At this point it’s not even really about the money, it’s just an emotional blow, and draining to think of all the weeks ahead of vet appointments, rehab, etc.

So, if you enjoyed all my entries about feline esophagostomies, you’re gonna love “canine luxating patella” over the next six months!
