Give Cindy Hall a job!

If you’re an animal lover, and you watch “Survivor”, you have to love Guatamala contestant and former zookeeper, Cindy Hall.  Cindy was voted off the show last Thursday, and in a couple of impassioned interviews since, has mentioned that she lost her job because of being on “Survivor”.  I feel really sorry for Cindy—she seems like the type who prefers the company of animals to people (and I know how that is), and she seems to be genuinely saddened about losing her job.  She gives the impression that her former employer, the Naples Zoo, won’t rehire her, and she doesn’t know what other job opportunities to explore as she likes living near her family in Florida.  I think the Naples Zoo needs to do some public relations repair and give her a job, stat.  She worked for them for 10 years before being fired, and while some people on message boards seem to think she “did something” to deserve to be fired, I know from working in my own “high status” job for many years (I was a radio announcer), that high-profile, fun, low-paying jobs attract people like flies, and job security is a revolving door.  There’s always someone who loves music waiting to be a radio jock for $6 an hour, and I’d bet there’s always someone with a high-school diploma willing to muck out tiger cages for the same price.  I watched Cindy’s interview on Survivor Live, and then saw her again on tonight’s Survivor Reunion show, and she seems despondent without her job.  So, Naples Zoo, step up to the plate, give the celebrity her job back!  If you don’t, I won’t come visit…
