Meet the Gingergirls
As promised, a photo of our simple-but-HRC-friendly holiday lawn decorations:

We weren’t attempting controversy when we bought them. I think their price was reduced to something too good to turn down, like 90% off their regular price, but all that was left were gingerbread girls and no gingerbread boys. So, we bought two girls, and now they’re wry and witty and amuse us. They actually aren’t up yet for this year—I’ll have to do that this weekend. I did put our new Christmas tree up today but wow, it’s huge! It came in a small box so I figured it would be small (I didn’t see the “seven feet tall” description), but it’s massive and almost hits our ceiling. I guess that means we have 8 foot ceilings, go figure. We put it in our TV room but it takes up far too much room, so tomorrow Flippy will help me move our wooden bar, and we’ll place it in the “hallway nook” instead. The cats are fascinated by it, but so far no one has climbed it.
Here’s a photo of the “kitty motel” at our front door. So far we’ve only had one cat come by, Chloe, and I haven’t seen her in over a week. If we can go all winter without any cats that would be great, as it would mean there were no cats wandering around the neighbourhood.

Did you know that January 5th is National Bird Day? I did not. It’s also my birthday, so two celebrations on one day means extra cake.
Finally, this clip is for Christine at The Rabbit Lived blog, as she’s apparently ready to test out the Swiffer Sleepers concept.
Love the Gingerbread Girls! They are so fantastically festive! :-)
Our biggest ordeal with the pups and the tree is that our JRT wants to hide out under it and sleep and our BC likes to sit on the branches. Every time I turn around he has his fuzzy little booty stuck in the tree. Go figure. LOL
Yay to two celebrations on one day! I believe that calls for extra cake AND extra ice cream. Perhaps even some extra booze of your choosing too!

Ciao for now…
