Sell me your sins for $1
A quick update… our electricity was off for about 9 hours today but it was tolerable because we cooled the house down to about 71 degrees at 6am (it had only risen to 74 by 3pm), and because we just slept and read through most of it. Sleep and read, sleep and read, all day long I sleep and read. Tonight I finished our 2004 tax return, yay, after making Nancy open an IRA so she should could take a bigger deduction. It made her feel all grown up and everything. I then rewarded myself with an apple danish, and wanted to read Television Without Pity while I relaxed, but their forums were down for maintenance, and I found myself browsing eBay for random delights. Here’s what I came up with:
Coffee stain which looks like a man’s face
The soul and bad penmanship of someone named Michael (if you’ve been needing the soul of a Michael to complete your “Souls from people with popular names” collection, here’s your chance!)
Sin Eater—hire a “sin eater” to carry your burdens (prices slightly higher in Washington, D.C.)
The latter item is supposedly from a funeral home and is haunted because it rings randomly, even though it’s not connected to a phone line. Perhaps I’ll list our doormat as a “haunted doormat”, as it causes uninvited visitors to ring our doorbell.
Tomorrow, dinner with Camden Toy... if he pulls any flesh-eating demon stuff on us I might just have to slap his hand away.
I kind of dig that pickle jar lid, but it is at $99 and the reserve still is not met.
Sadly, that auction has already surpassed my “pornographic pickle jar lid” budget for the month. :o(

I forgot to add something to my last comment…
Where did you get your doormat? I was telling the husband about it and we decided that we also need a doormat to tell the neighbours to scram! (I just hope that the one we buy is not haunted like yours!)
Posted by Expat on 04/16 at 08:19 AMI believe we got our doormat at Cost Plus, but beware, I don’t know if they might all have those dastardly defects of causing high foot traffic.
