What can Brown do for me?
I’ll tell you what “Brown” can do for me—they can leave about $6000 worth of stuff on my front doorstep without even ringing the doorbell! There was a huge pile of boxes out there when I looked tonight around 7pm, and the only reason I looked was because I thought that perhaps one box would be arriving today. Instead I was greeted by a mountain of unexpected things, including a very expensive printer in its original box, just shouting to the street, “Hey, I’m an expensive printer, come and take me home with you!” UPS is constantly leaving stuff for us without even bothering to knock on the door or ring the bell, and it really pisses me off.
While we were bringing in our boxes, a smallish grey cat ran out from behind the pile and into our neighbour’s back yard! I don’t know if it’s lost or a stray or if some idiot on the street just lets their cat out to wander around the busy highway, but I put bowls of food and water out for it just in case. I worry about it getting into our yard and accidentally falling into the pool… the woman across the street found a dead rabbit in her pool filter last year.
Cricket’s the same, Chelsea ate some kibble, our window was repaired by the incompetent window repair guy (you just know he’s the owner’s son or nephew or something), who left the old window propped against the wall in the backyard. What am I supposed to do with it?! I’m just glad I got to it before Dante tried to drag it through the yard and we had a broken glass disaster. Oh, the guy didn’t replace the window screen either, as I’m sure he was far too busy to attend to such silly things. I have to “water test” the window tomorrow to see if the replacement has fixed our leak, and while I’m sick of dealing with the window company, I actually want it to leak to I can enjoy the fact that the repair guy is as incompetent as I think he is.
Wow, this entire entry makes me sound down-right crochety.
