Best toy ever

The kittens have voted, and the winner of the “best toy ever” award goes to the crinkly bright pink bag from the dog bakery!

I’m sure you’re not surprised, and have your own stories about pets (or kids) who toss the expensive toy aside in favour of the box it came in (and we all know and love the Internet’s greatest usurper of packaging, Maru). It’s something to keep in mind for times when the pets are acting bored and rambunctious, (and you’re craving a bit of peace and quiet for reading, watching TV, or playing a little poker.dk): your kitchen cupboards and storage areas are probably filled with common household items just waiting to be turned into the Most Exciting New Toy of the Day. A paper grocery bag with the handles cut off, a ball of aluminum foil, and an empty soda box filled with brown crinkly packing paper are a cat’s dream playground, and you don’t have to worry if parts get scratched or torn. Clean-up just means a quick trip to the trash can (if you can stand the sad little faces watching you take away their number one empty Kleenex box), Just remember that no toy will likely ever be as popular as the Infamous Pink Bakery Bag, so expectations won’t be set too high, and no one will cry kitten tears of disappointment.

Yup.. Bear’s favourite toy is still the brown paper grocery bag. He goes in it at least once a day.

My name is Leigh-Ann, I'm Canadian, and I live in the United States. This gives me great insight on cross-border issues, like American vs. Canadian candy bars, and curling vs. golf. I enjoy coffee but not caffeine, as I like to think I'm agitated enough already. I love animals and birds and fish and even most of the creepy crawlies on the sidewalk and in the garden, but I prefer it when they stay out of the house. I completed the veterinary technology program at Penn Foster, and in 2004 I started Wee Paws Animal Sanctuary with the goal of eventually turning it into a farm-like sanctuary facility for 50+ "unadoptable" cats (we're at 24). Long story short, this is a cat blog, with a dose of dog and parrot, heavy on pet health care talk.
