Flippy and I grow old and crotchety together
Today is Flippy and my tenth anniversary. We were reminded of this when a close friend sent us a “Happy Anniversary” email early this morning. I called in to Flippy, ‘Hey, Celine says it’s our anniversary, and I think she’s right. Happy Anniversary!’ Thank you, Celine, for reminding us that today was not just the day after Greg and Spiderman left. We had an impromptu celebration by going to the grocery store for milk and bread, panicking over the fact that the bank account is awfully roomy, and picking up new foster cats who smell like pee. We spent the evening watching the Leafs lose, again, and eating pb&j and popcorn. It’s about the most auspicious anniversary of all ten, I’d have to say.
Every year I write Flippy a note or a card saying that I know the year has been sort of rough financially and/or healthwise, but that I’m sure things will get better, etc., etc. This year I’m not going to promise any of those things, because I think I just frighten off the gods of good fortune. This year I’ll just say, ‘Flippy, the next twelve months will be filled with strange cats, aches and pains, and worrying about how much money is in the bank account. On the bright side, we’ll still laugh every day like we always have.’ Thank goodness laughter is free!
Happy anniversary! May you have many more years of laughter together.

The money situation will turn around. Somehow. I feel it in my left pinky ...

Yikes, I need to go to bed. It’s 6a, and I think I’ve nodded out twice while trying to post. Ack, I just had a nap-jerk. G’night! Or, g’Morning’!
