Leigh-Ann and Nancy’s big gay anniversary

Today is our anniversary—“Flippy” and I have been together for nine years.  Because we can’t get married, we just figure our anniversary as being the day of our first date—we’ve been pretty much inseparable since that day.  We’re going to go out for an “exotic” dinner at Mimi’s Cafe in about an hour or so, which shows an incredible amount of effort on our part because it requires leaving the house.  If we didn’t practically share personalities, we’d probably drive someone else crazy with our easy-going, hermit-like habits.  So, Happy Anniversary to us—we didn’t buy each other gifts or presents, but tonight I’ll offer to clean up the dog poop in the yard all by myself to show my love smile

  1. Congratulations!  9 years is a long time.  You deserve to be proud and celebrate (with something other than dog excrement).

  2. I’ll let her have a peppermint mocha before she gets to the excrement.  Or after, her choice.  See how nice I am?

  6. Thank you for the good wishes—we had a nice evening.  We had dinner (I had hibachi salmon, as well as some red bean and andouille sausage soup), then for dessert we stopped for small peppermint mochas at Starbucks.  Then we came home and spent the evening working, but it was still so nice to have been out of the house for a while.  I suggested to Flippy that we go for a nice romantic stroll through Office Depot, but her leg was bothering her so she took a raincheck smile

  7. Congratulations!!

My sweetie scared me by informing me that last Saturday was the 12 anniversary of the day we met. I had no clue when it was. I remember the meeting- but not the exact date or even the hour. He can quote most of the conversation. Scary.

  8. Leigh-Ann will never forget the day we met - we spent three hours killing time together, waiting for a friend to meet up with us.  Most of it was spent on the rainbow painted steps of Don’t Panic! (http://www.dontpanic.com), on Castro St., talking and people watching.  It was the ultimate test - it showed us that we’re both patient enough to wait for someone for three hours without having a hissy fit.

  9. Sorry this is so late but a huge HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to you both. May you continue to not drive other people crazy together for decades and decades to come.
