Merrick Pet Care’s pet birthday cards
It’s no secret that I love to feed our pets Merrick pet food, even if I can’t always afford it. Still, that’s my dream—to just have cases and cases of Merrick in the garage, so I never have to worry about feeding “Friskies” again. Merrick has a birthday club, and if you’ve purchased at least $15 worth of food from their website during the year, you can sign up all your dogs and cats. It’s almost the one-year birthdays of Bing, Tie, and Scampi, and in the mail they each received a birthday card from Merrick, and coupons for two free 5.5 oz. cans of Merrick cat food (six coupons in total)! I think on the dog’s birthdays, they’ve received dried pork roll chews, but it would be fine with me if Merrick sent them canned food coupons as well. It’s a nice little customer service perk that Merrick offers, so if you ever order from them, be sure to sign up all your pets.
Thanks for mentioning that—somehow I missed it, and Salem’s b-day is in February, so that’ll be nice. (I think of you often when I feed him, as you were the person who introduced me to that food several months ago. He’s done so well on it—no more itching, his coat is incredibly thick and shiny, and he’s lost the extra weight that needed to come off. And he *loves* it.)
Posted by Helena on 12/05 at 10:34 AMYou know, I have bought a bunch of Merrick canned foods and my picky ingrate cat Elvis just won’t eat it. It looks and smells so good, too!
He likes Fancy Feast, yuck. But only the flaked or chunks, and no beef.
The stray cats eat pretty well around here, they get all the good stuff Elvis turns his dumb litytle pink nose up at.Posted by Carina on 12/05 at 08:00 PMI’ve tried to raise non-finicky cats by giving them a varied diet, but they still have their preferences, and only one of them will truly eat *anything*. Right now I’m having trouble with my cats refusing to eat Natural Balance “Chicken with Liver”—they all refuse to touch it, except for a nibble here or there. I’m going to have to see if I can exchange it, because I bought a case of 24 and they’re just going to waste. I will feed the stray cats most leftovers around here, but not at $1.19 per can :)
Merrick is such a pain in the butt to get—we have to drive to a different part of town, and the store is pricey. I think I could place a wholesale order with them and save a huge amount of money, but I’d need to spend about $500 minimum. Maybe that’s what Santa can bring me!
Posted by Leigh-Ann on 12/06 at 04:58 PMGlad to hear Salem is doing so well, Helena! I’ve noticed that when I feed a better-quality food, the cats seem to eat less yet they’re still satisfied. I wish I could just eat Merrick for weight-loss, too!
