My bug
When I mentioned “my bug” to Flippy, she thought I was referring to Madison. But no, I was referring to my bug:
This bug is special because it’s been stuck on the wall in the laundry room for about three years. No, really. Years ago, I thought it was alive, but I couldn’t reach it to remove it. About a week later, I figured it might be dead. Three years later, I’m quite sure it’s dead. How long will it hang on the wall if I leave it alone? Has it turned to dust, but is being held together by more dust? Curious, isn’t it?
Not doing housework is so much more interesting than actually doing it.
Hey, that’s a really neat-looking bug. Is it - was it - a praying mantis?
Posted by Nancy on 01/28 at 05:27 AMIt’s really tiny, and sort of reddish-brown/shiny, so I don’t think it’s a praying mantis. I thought it might be a type of earwig because of its pronged tail, but I’ve never looked it up.
I posted this entry to the equivalent of “carnival of the bugs” today, so maybe if someone stops by to see it, they can identify it!

You know, dust and bugs and stuff is just fine left alone; as soon as you start stirring it up, it causes sneezing and you use up lots of kleenex and have to take the trash out and… well, it’s fine there, right?
